Significant icing. Ice accumulations of up to one inch and sleet accumulations up to three inches possible.

Ashley and Chicot counties in Arkansas, East Carroll, Morehouse, Richland, and West Carroll parishes in Louisiana, and Bolivar, Grenada, Holmes, Humphreys, Issaquena, Leflore, Montgomery, Sharkey, Sunflower, Washington, Webster, and Yazoo counties in Mississippi.

Until 6 PM CST Sunday.

IMPACTS
Expect power outages that last more than a day and extensive tree damage due to the ice. Travel could be impossible.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
Travel should be restricted to emergencies only. Prepare for extended power outages. If travel is absolutely necessary, drive with extreme caution. Consider taking a winter storm kit along with you, including such items as tire chains, booster cables, flashlight, shovel, blankets and extra clothing. Also take water, a first aid kit, and anything else that would help you survive in case you become stranded. Do not touch downed lines and report any power outages to your electric company. Travel is highly discouraged due to slick roadways and the possibility of downed trees and power lines.

Dangerously cold wind chills below 10 degrees to as low as negatives to single digits in the Highway 82 corridor, with low temperatures around 5 up to 15 degrees.

WHERE
Portions of southeast Arkansas, northeast Louisiana, and central, east central, north central, northeast, northwest, south central, southeast, southwest, and west central Mississippi.

WHEN
From 6 PM Sunday to noon CST Tuesday.

IMPACTS
Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures. An extended period of freezing temperatures could cause ruptured water pipes.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The coldest low temperatures are expected Monday night into Tuesday morning, but cold temperatures and wind chills are expected throughout the event.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must go outside. To prevent water pipes from freezing; wrap or drain or allow them to drip slowly. Drain in-ground sprinkler systems and cover above ground pipes. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make sure outdoor animals have a warm, dry shelter, food, and unfrozen water. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside or near windows and doors.
